Italy Trip 2007

Italy was absolutely . . . bellissimo! I loved the history, paintings and sculptures, the cappuccino and gelato! We stayed in Ancient Rome. The cobblestone streets are narrow and winding, adding to the charm and sense of going back in time. Ancient ruins, like the Colosseum and Roman Forum, are a couple of millenia old, give or take. The Colosseum was especially impressive. It's huge! Enough of it is in tact that you get a feel for when gladiators and lions used to rush through the huge archways and entertain more than 60,000 people.

Don't be fooled by the 3-D effect. Those "sculptures" are painted.

Then it was off to Venice! And, yes, it's cold in March.
